On Drivy Open, you don’t have to request a price update for distance or fuel at the end of the rental – it’s all read by the Drivy Open box, then calculated and updated automatically.
If your vehicle is compatible you will have received an email from Drivy to let you know that adjustments will now be done automatically! Unfortunately, not all types of vehicle allow automatic detection of the fuel level, but we’re working on it! In this case, only the mileage adjustments will be done automatically. You can sign in to your account, go to the relevant rental page, then click on ‘Price update (fuel)’ to make a fuel adjustment.
If the driver doesn’t return your vehicle with the same level of fuel as it had at check-in, we calculate the difference and charge or refund the driver automatically, based on the size of the car's tank and a fixed price per liter:
Petrol: 1,75€ per liter Diesel: 1,65€ per liter
Petrol: 1,45€ per liter Diesel: 1,50€ per liter
Petrol: 1,4€ per liter Diesel: 1,35€ per liter
Petrol: 1,35£ per liter Diesel: 1,44£ per liter
Petrol: 1,5€ per liter Diesel: 1,4€ per liter
These are based on the high end of the fuel market to make sure that you get compensated if the driver gives the car back with less fuel than at the start. Additionally, the driver will be charged a fee if they give the car back with a significant fuel difference. If the difference is more than 15% of the tank capacity, you will be compensated 10€/£.
NB: This compensation only applies to car with automatic adjustments.
The size of your tank is detected automatically, if you want to change it you can contact us so we can have a look.
If the driver travels further than expected, they are automatically charged for the additional miles based on the price per mile Drivy sets. And if they didn’t travel as far? Nothing changes – the unused miles are not refunded.
NB: Drivers cannot receive a refund of more than the amount the owner received for the rental.
